Welcome to the Intelligent Next-gen Signal & Image Analysis (INSIA) Lab
The INSIA Lab studies how to extract reliable information from complex, time-varying signals. Our research combines the mathematical foundations of signal processing with modern machine learning. The goal is sensing and inference systems that are accurate, interpretable and efficient enough to deploy in the real world.
Research Directions
Signal Representation and Analysis
We develop principled methods for representing non-stationary signals, including time–frequency analysis, adaptive signal decomposition, and statistical estimation and detection.Intelligent Sensing
We design learning-based systems that interpret data from radar, wearable and inertial sensors. Our focus is robust perception in unconstrained environments.Biomedical and Neural Signal Processing
We build computational tools for analyzing physiological and brain signals, with applications in healthcare, assistive technology and brain–computer interfaces.Human–Machine Interaction
We study how signals from the human body can enable natural, reliable communication between people and machines.Image and Multidimensional Data Analysis
We extend signal processing principles to images and higher-dimensional data for recognition and understanding tasks.
